Dark tourism is a unique type of tourism. I think one of the reasons for this is due to the fact that throughout history, there have been so many mass killings, famous deaths, and prisons that have shaped our country. Wether these historic moments were sad, or scary, I think people are attracted to these things because of the importance they hold. I believe people are drawn to things that are out of the ordinary, or scary. Because so many historic moments like the holocaust have been talked about and we have learned so much about in school, a lot of people find it interesting to visit these places, because it really makes it seem real. When learning about a subject, it is hard to envision it, so when a tourist is able to visit a prison that help so many famous murderers, it is almost a thrill.
